Personal Statement:

I am a local provider that grew up in the Wilmington Area, with some professional experience working outside of Wilmington in the Durham and Asheville areas of North Carolina.  I believe in using elements of cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing and acceptance commitment therapy to provide a person centered approach with counseling. 

I have spent much of my career in a medical and psychiatric hospital setting, thus gaining experience and understanding of how mental health and substance use directly impacts health and well being.  Time spent in outpatient treatment, community support services and serving as clinical director at and addiction treatment center has rounded out experience prior to private practice.
