Personal Statement:

I am co-owner and staff psychologist at the Chrysalis Center for Counseling and Eating Disorder Treatment, which offers the only comprehensive outpatient eating disorder treatment program in Southeastern North Carolina.

My diverse clinical experience includes providing psychological services in private practice, college counseling centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and a community mental health center. Prior to co-founding Chrysalis, I was part of the UNCW Eating Disorder Treatment team, providing assessments and individual and group counseling for that program. In addition, I have taught college-level psychology courses at two institutions and had a research article published in the journal Addictive Behaviors. I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Clemson University with a Minor in Women’s Studies and a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University. I am a professional member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and an Integrated Health Associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

My clinical interests include eating disorders, pre- and post-operative psychological care for bariatric (weight loss) surgery patients, social anxiety, self-injury, women’s issues, adolescent mental health, and substance abuse in teens and young adults.
